| Woodsled Decent
from the Aeschiallmend, Auguste Baud-Bovy, 1890 (Town hall, Aeschi) |
||
From the butcher, the baker and the candle stick maker the former two are still here (in fact Aeschi has two bakeries now), but the candle stick maker must have taken off for the United States in the 19th Century, because he is no longer in the phone book. Today candles are still drawn in a civil defense shelter during the month of December, not as a business, but as a chance for children and adults to actually create some personal Christmas gifts.
Aeschi has many efficient, hard working businesses. Retail traders, hand craftsmen and various services can be found here. Almost everything that you need on a daily basis can be found in Aeschi. Behind this positive development stands the Business Association of Aeschi, which was founded in 1945 and boasts over 75 members today. Their goals are to provide the residents and vacationers here with a wide range of products and services and to promote and improve cooperation and communication within the membership. Even though "working hard at the job" today is less strenuous than for the driver of the transport sled in the painting by Baud-Bovy, acumen, effort and skill are still required in order to be successful today and to satisfy the wants and needs of the consumers.
